AskChrisKnight.com HOME :: Health-and-Fitness / Hair-Loss Beating Hair Loss and Also Understanding How it Comes About By Paddy Mella Article Word Count: 767 [ View Summary ] Comments (0) Cause Most of us either know someone who is affected by this condition or perhaps are ourselves affected. The fact is that hair loss is not peculiar to men, it does occur in women too. The earliest indications of this affecting people are found in ancient finds and narratives. In some societies in the past it was believed that to be bald headed was regarded to be a sign of wealth. In some it was said to be associated with being virile and manly. We all know that that isn't the case and in fact baldness (alopecia) is a condition found mainly in males, most of it is due to a genetic susceptibility of certain individuals to the ill effects of some chemicals in the body. The affected persons are not necessarily producing excessive amounts of the chemical, DHT(Dihydro testosterone). It is present in all individuals and is the active form of the male hormone. In bald headed men, the hair follicle are very susceptible to the damaging effects of this active form of testosterone, which contradicts the popular belief that contrary to the belief that people who are bald have high levels of testosterone. This chemical then stifles the growth of hair follicles and thus slowly 'suffocates' the hair follicles so that when they hair fall or is cut the new hair that grows is thinner than what has been before it. Eventually the hair will become so small that it is hard visible to the eye and then you get the bald head. Remedies: Numerous attempts in the past were made to find a cure. People used anything in the hope that their hair will grow again. A lot of substances were marketed by many in the promise of a cure to people. But of course as with many things developed by untrained and unqualified individuals and groups it turned out to be empty promises in most cases. Some of these people had a genuine belief that their preparations worked but a great many of them knew it did not. It should also be noted that there are many causes of hair loss and no single solution should be used to treat all forms of hair loss. Hereditary pattern hair loss in men is by far the most common form of hair loss. Finally though a medically proven and successfully remedy was discovered, but there was a downside. Its limitation was that like all medicines there were some side effects, many of these side effects were reversible on stopping the medication. The most notable and by far the most common was loss of libido and this turned out to be the downfall of this wonderful drug. Since the medicine is taken by mouth it was not only available in the scalp area which was where it is required and is carried in the blood to other parts of the body. This resulted in the loss of libido for those taking the drug. Young men in their prime are the first to notice and most are discouraged by reduced or even obliterated response to their partners while on this drug. So, there arose the question of developing a drug that will act only where it is needed. A topical solution was sough and the breakthrough came in the form a wonder solution named Minoxidil. It is by far the most common topical agent for the treatment of hair loss. It is a "wonderful little" (in the form of a solution) potion that is simply applied to the affected areas and the result are often dramatic. You should start noticing hair re-appearing again. I have personally used this and I have my hair back, some time I wonder if I ever had male pattern hair loss. This solution works by preventing the conversion of testosterone into DHT and thus will allow hair to literarily resurrect. It has practically no side effects because it is applied only over the areas affected and does not go into the blood stream and any significant quantity. They come in different concentration the 5% solution is the most effective and useful in a majority of hair loss cases. This remedy has proven it effectiveness in men as well as women, who are experience hair loss, Find out more about me or my company by visting us at http://www.mellinc.com/prod01.htm , You can email your questions to me. AskChrisKnight.com HOME :: Health-and-Fitness / Beauty Celebrity Hair Styles Think Before You Copy! By Michael Barrows Article Word Count: 564 [ View Summary ] Comments (0) Ever turn on the television and become instantly infatuated with the latest celebrity hair style sported by Jennifer Aniston or other highly-emulated celebrities? If so, you are not alone. In fact, most fashion trends actually begin after a celebrity has worn them and the same is true when it comes to celebrity hair styles. Just think of Ashton Kutcher and how many men now wear his tousled celebrity hair style. How about Kate Winslet and all of her manifestations? The truth is that styling your tresses similar to a celebrity hair style is hot. But should you always turn to celebrities to find your latest style, and how can you mirror the celebrity hair style when celebrities have a staff of professionals catering to their every hair whim? There are good reasons on both sides of the equation when it comes to choosing a celebrity hair style. For some, a celebrity hair style can be the perfect answer when they find themselves in a style slump. For others, choosing a celebrity hair style can be a big mistake. Here are just a few of the pros and cons when it comes to celebrity hair styles. Why you should copy 1.Celebrities have access to some of the most talented and highest paid beauty professionals in the industry. While you may not be able to afford a consult with one of these style legends yourself, you have the perfect opportunity to see and emulate their work with a celebrity hair style. 2.For the most part, celebrities are on the cutting edge of fashion. When you choose a celebrity hair style, you do not have to worry about looking dated or being out of style. 3.C'mon let's face it. We look up to celebrities because they always look fashionable and beautiful. If you are looking for a celebrity hair style to pull your look together, then there is no better place to look than to the stars. Why not to copy 1.Celebrities are seen by virtually everybody, and when a new celebrity hair style causes a sensation, you can be sure that everyone will be trying to emulate it. So, while you may be thinking that you are going to look sensational with your new celebrity hair style, you may end up looking like a copy cat. 2.Celebrities do not have to choose easy styles because they have hair stylists and make-up artists solely dedicated to making them look beautiful. On the other hand, you probably do not. So, be careful not to choose a celebrity hair style that will have you pulling out your hair when you have to spend hours keeping it up. 3.Stylists to the stars choose particular celebrity hair styles for their clients because they are perfect for their face shape and type and texture of hair. Not everybody can pull off every style. Be careful not to choose a celebrity hair style that makes you look ridiculous. While there are pros and cons to everything, choosing a celebrity hair style should be something that you give some thought to before making a final decision. Not everyone is worth millions, but you can look like you are if you choose your celebrity hair styles wisely. Michael Barrows' website gives great advice for good hair. The most common areas to remove hair from are: Facial Hair - upper lip, eyebrows, chin, sideburns Leg Hair Under Arm Hair Back Hair Chest Hair Pubic Hair/Bikini Line Ear Hair Do you have a Hair Removal Problem? 2oz lotion, 4oz spray 2 Pak Lotion, Spray - $61.95 2 oz. Lotion - $29.95 4 oz. Spray - $47.95 Your unwanted hair keeps growing back! Your current methods of hair removal have been temporary, painful, expensive and ineffective. Kalo - Inhibits unwanted hair growth Permanently. Kalo is the Solution, to your hair removal problem! Once you've reached puberty, chances are you have hair somewhere on your body that you don't want. You can remove hair by shaving, depilatories, waxing and tweezing, but it always grows back. Kalo, a new product from Nisim International, is a revolutionary hair inhibitor that will permanently keep unwanted hair from growing back. Sold as an aqueous spray mist ideal for large areas like legs and backs, or soothing lotion ideal for smaller and sensitive areas like face and bikini line. Kalo's proprietary formula works directly in the follicle, neutralizing the key elements necessary for hair to grow, without damaging skin tissue or causing irritation. Tested for five years before its 1997 debut, Kalo has a soothing, gentle feel that contrasts with the pain and skin irritation caused by electrolysis, waxing, laser or depilatories. Kalo involves no gadgets, no applicators, no special tools. It's just one product that produces astonishing results. Don't be fooled by imposters. Available without prescription unlike Vaniqa. Kalo's effectiveness relies on first physically removing the unwanted hair in a way that removes the hair shaft and bulb without breaking the hair and leaves the follicle open: usually accomplished by waxing, sugaring or tweezing. After the hair is removed, Kalo is applied over the area and thoroughly rubbed in: three times in succession the first day, three times in succession the next day. Kalo is not used again until the next hair removal session. Every time you remove hair and then use Kalo, you can expect that 10 to 15 per cent of the hair will never grow back. This is because, at any given time, 10 to 15 per cent of hair on a person's body are in the anagen, or initial growth stage-the hair best affected by Kalo. The 85-90 per cent of the hair that does grow back will be weaker, finer, and have less color. After only a few hair removal sessions, the results will be dramatically evident, with up to 50 per cent of the hair permanently gone within six months. The advantages of Kalo are obvious. Traditional hair removal methods can be painful, costly, damaging to skin. Kalo Spray 4 oz. bottle covers approximately 4-6 leg-waxing sessions, or about six months supply. Kalo is also available in a soothing 2 oz lotion one tube covers approximately 2-3 leg waxing sessions. Both are backed by our 100% money back Guarantee .
